New Volunteer Opportunity at Buffalo Bayou Park

posted Jan 8, 2016, 3:57 PM by Mary Waters   [ updated Jan 9, 2016, 6:35 PM ]
Fall 2015 class member Alisa Kline is working with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Jaime Gonzalez of Katy Prairie Conservancy/Coastal Prairie Partnership to develop and conduct walking tours of the Bayou on the third Saturday of each month.  She is hoping members of the chapter will be interested in participating as tour leaders.

Jaime asked that the focus be on prairies and Alisa has worked up a draft script based on the history of the area and the prairies. The first orientation tour for interested volunteers will be January 23 to work out the route, the script and any bugs.  There will be a 2nd practice tour for invited guests before the tour is first offered to the public starting on February 20.  She envisions the tour taking one hour and starting at the Jamail Skate park, with the potential for other starting points as we go forward.

If you are interested in this project, or would like more information, please contact Alisa Kline .

This is a great opportunity for our chapter!
