September 7 Wildscapes Workshop and Native Plant Sale

15th Annual Wildscapes Workshop & Native Plant Sale, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, at the Brown Education Center at the Houston Zoo, 6200 Hermann Park Drive. Talks include "Life in the Soil" by John Ferguson of Nature's Way Resources, "Bring Back the Monarchs" by Cathy Downs, "Plants for Wildscapes Landscapes" by Mark Bronstad of Doremus Nursery, "More Remarkable Plants of Texas" by author Matt Warnock Turner, and "Attracting Birds to Your Backyard" by author and naturalist Gary Clark. City of Houston Sr. Horticulturist Dee Howell will emcee. The workshop will include educational programs, continental breakfast, lunch, entry to the zoo, a nature book sale, book signings and a native plant sale. An optional walking field trip to the Zoo's Native Plant Garden will follow the workshop.
