TONIGHT! "San Jacinto Prairie Now & Then" by Dennis Jones, TPWD

Come tonight, Wednesday, March 20, to Judson Robinson Jr. Community Center (2020 Hermann Dr. 77004 - corner of Almeda) in Hermann Park to hear Dennis Jones, Park Interpreter at San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site speak on San Jacinto Prairie Now & Then with New Information on the Role of the Prairie on the BattleDennis is a terrific speaker; his forte is to find accounts by early settlers/soldiers and read them in a fabulous voice that make their words come alive.

This coming Saturday (March 23), we will be having a tour of now Deer Park Prairie.  The Indian paintbrushes are out and some violets and a few rosinweed. However, most of the spring blooms seem to be a bit later this year than last.  We are also planning a tour next month.
