Volunteer Report from Exploration Green!

A report from the field by Jerry Hamby.  Forty volunteers showed up to work at Exploration Green this morning, including several members of Houston Oasis, twenty-one members of the Lee College IMPACT Spanish Club, and four of my English students. One team worked at the Phase I planting site, mulching the forty-six trees we planted last February and removing support stakes for most of those trees. Another group cleaned up the large lower mat and weeded and mulched pots at the tree nursery. The weather was absolutely perfect, and we had a great time.

Our next workday is Sunday, February 28th. Plan to join us if you can. We are expecting a group of volunteers from Galveston Bay Foundation. Stay tuned for details about the next “Second Saturday” workday on March 12th. We have plans for a very different experience!   Contact Jerry Hamby if you'd like to volunteer at Exploration Green.
