Become a Master Naturalist

To become a Certified Texas Master Naturalist of the Gulf Coast Chapter, Trainees must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Attend all training classes and field trips.
  • Complete 40 hours minimum of volunteer service on approved projects within a year after the training class.
  • Complete 8 hours of advanced training in approved classes within a year after the training class.

In the Gulf Coast Chapter, training is usually offered twice a year. Classes are offered during the Day in the Spring, and at Night in the Fall. Trainees attend 56 hours of classes and field trips.

To maintain active status in the Gulf Coast Chapter, a Texas Master Naturalist completes 40 hours minimum of volunteer service and 8 hours minimum of advanced training, annually.
