April Flooding

Thank you to my fellow Gulf Coast Master Naturalists for volunteering your precious time to ensure that the Houston region has viable, natural greenspace. Not only do the local (and migratory) species of animals and plants benefit, but also our human neighbors get the benefit of a healthier Houston. These natural areas are also critical in helping alleviate flooding impacts, soaking up the water like a sponge. After yet another historic flooding event this week, we all know we have more work to do. I hope you all are as safe and as dry as possible. If you need your fellow Master Naturalists in any way, please reach out to me. We are a community of people who love nature, but we are also friends—no Texas Master Naturalist is alone.
